Beloved Anthem Singer Releases
“Home Run” to Fight Homelessness

Washington, DC—September 10, 2019—D.C. Washington, national anthem singer and local celebrity, is releasing an album to combat homelessness in the District. No longer do you have to wait for a Nats game to hear D.C. sing. When you buy the album, you can listen to him any time—all while feeding and empowering people experiencing homelessness.

People across the DMV know and love D.C. Washington and his inspiring voice. What they may not know is D.C. serves as the vice-chair of the board of directors for Central Union Mission. The man who shares the city’s name is not just a public icon but also a quiet servant. It is fitting that Washingtonians’ love of DC will in turn shower love on those struggling in the District.

“Home Run” is set to debut September 26 at HeArt & Sole, Central Union Mission’s annual fundraiser, at the National Housing Center (1201 15th St., NW) at 7:00 pm. All proceeds from “Home Run” will go to Central Union Mission to help meet the needs of the city’s homeless and hurting with shelter, meals, medical care and job training. Every album purchased will provide a meal and care for five people.

Media are invited to attend the “Home Run” debut during HeArt & Sole and to interview D.C. Washington. Contact Deborah Chambers, VP, Development and Partnerships at dchambers@missiondc.org or 202-534-9965 for information and admission.
