Family Programs

The Family Ministry Center will remain open and committed to serving lost and hurting souls in our community—no matter what challenges we face.

  • Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, beginning September 1st, the FMC food distribution program will change temporarily to allow anyone with an ID to visit twice a month for food:
    • All distributions will be outside in the parking lot until further notice.
    • Relief and Restoration will follow the scheduled distribution dates. (Please check the calendar for dates.)
    • Distribution times are 10:00am and 1:00pm daily pr while supplies last.
    • Please provide your ID or membership card at check-in.
    • At the entrance gate, everyone is given a number. Only 10 people at a time are permitted to pick up their food.
    • At the Mission Market backdoor, participants check-in and receive a preassembled food cart.


Clothing and Housewares at the Family Ministry Center

Beginning May 2021 the Clothing & Housewares room will be available for participants to shop by APPOINTMENT ONLY! To make an appointment, call (202)745-7118, ext. 500 Fridays from 9:00am-11:00am ONLY!! (Appointments will not be accepted any other time by phone).

Due to COVID19 and for your safety, only a limited number of appointments are available each day.


    • Appointment days are Monday-Thursday beginning in May
    • Times:10:00am/10:15am/10:30am/10:45am/11:00am/11:15am/11:30am/11:45am/12:00pm/ 12:15pm/ 12:30p/ 12:45pm. (Choose one)
    • Each person may visit ONCE per month.
    • Each appointment is for 15 minutes.
    • When participant arrives for appointment, go to the main entrance with stairs. Please be advised, participant may be asked to wait if the previous pick-up has not left. Waiting area will be open with social distancing, temperature checks, and mask required to enter.
    • If participant misses their appointment, they may reschedule.
    • Everyone is required to wear a mask and disposable gloves to shop. Mask and gloves provided.
    • Groceries available to each participate once shopping appointment is completed.

We are accepting food donations and sanitizing items (hand sanitizer, isopropyl alcohol, Clorox wipes, Lysol, boxes of tissues, and N95 masks) at the Men’s Shelter located at 65 Mass Ave NW Washington, DC 20001.

All other gift-in-kind donations should be taken to our Family Ministry Center. Drop-Off Details

The Family Ministry Center provides food and clothing to approximately 5,750 people per month (families, including many single mothers, grandparent care-givers and isolated senior citizens). We distribute groceries that provide over three million meals each year, and we provide computer training, legal aid, ESOL classes, Bible studies, life skills classes, services for senior citizens, parenting classes, baby showers, Christmas gifts, Thanksgiving supplies and more.

The Family Ministry Center (FMC) is a center where people struggling with insufficient food and clothing can find help.
