“I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God: in Him I will trust.”

I am always happy for the privilege of telling others what the Lord Jesus has done for me. Through sin I became an alcoholic and lost everything I possessed, including friends. I tried every treatment I had heard of, but none of them did any good. Instead I became weaker and weaker until I found myself helpless, with no job, and unable to work if I had one. All that I wanted was alcohol.

In December, 1946, dirty, hungry, and without hope, I came to Washington, and at the Central Union Mission I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, surrendering my entire life to His will. From that moment on I put my trust entirely in Jesus, and praise His name all of my needs have been supplied. I have been blessed in many ways including good health, work, and Christian friends. Each day I look to Jesus and ask Him for strength and power over sin. He has taken the craving for alcohol entirely out of my life, and I thank Him for it.

I thank God for providing the Central Union Mission and many others like it, where a poor sin-wrecked men can be received with kindness and told the way of Salvation. My friend, if the burden of sin has you down and without hope, I beg you to accept the Lord Jesus as your personal Savior. Believe and trust him, and He will help you.
