| This Friday, December 12, 4-7:00 p.m., 65 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington, DC Washington, DC — Dec. 11, 2025 —For many experiencing homelessness, the holidays can be an especially difficult time. This Friday, Central Union Mission is offering a different kind of evening for them; one filled with dignity, community, and joy through its “Show Some Love” Christmas celebration for the 150+ men staying at its shelter. From 4:00 to 7:00 pm, the Mission will transform its facility into a Christmas wonderland and provide guests with an evening of care and connection. The celebration includes:
“This event restores something that homelessness tends to take away: the feeling of being seen, valued, and worthy of joy,” said Mission President & CEO, Joe Mettimano. “Our city is hurting. People are hurting. About Central Union Mission: Central Union Mission, Washington, DC’s oldest private social service agency and a faith-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit, offers a comprehensive array of services to men, women and children in need from DC, Virginia and Maryland.
