“Gracefully Restored”
Washington, DC — May 4, 2026 — This Mother’s Day season, Central Union Mission and Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center are creating space for something many women rarely receive: rest, encouragement, and the reminder that they are deeply valued.

On Tuesday, May 5 (10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.), the Mission’s Comprehensive Family Resource Center will host “Gracefully Restored,” a special Mother’s Day celebration designed to help women feel seen, loved, and renewed.

The event will bring together women from across the community for connection and care, including pampering services, a special lunch, raffles, and curated gifts—offering a meaningful pause and a chance to experience dignity, joy, and restoration.

Gracefully Restored is more than an event—it is an invitation to rest. It is designed especially for weary mothers, carrying heavy responsibilities, or walking through seasons of grief and loss. The day also creates space to gently honor mothers who have experienced the loss of a child, surrounding them with compassion, dignity, and care.

“Many of the women we serve are constantly pouring out for others while navigating immense challenges of their own,” said Tracy Duncan, Senior Director of the Comprehensive Family Resource Center. “This day is about pouring back into them and reminding them that they are seen, valued, and worthy of care.”

This joint effort between Central Union Mission and Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center continues to meet both the physical and emotional needs of women and families across the DC area; walking alongside them with compassion, practical support, and hope.
