White House Honors Executive Director, David Treadwell December 18, 2011 On Thursday, December 15th, Central Union Mission's executive director, David Treadwell was one of ten local leaders who were honored at the White House as Champions of Change for his great strides to improve the lives of others through charitable work, faith and advocacy. The Champions of Change program was created as a part of President Obama's Winning the Future initiative. Each week, a different issue is highlighted and groups of Champions, ranging from educators to entrepreneurs to community leaders, are recognized for the work they are doing to better their communities. "These individuals are innovators and reformers that are making a difference in communities across the nation," said Robert Velasco, II, Acting CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service.
