Ministries

Ministries play a critical role in helping the Mission glorify the compassion of God. Please consider the many ways that your ministry can get involved with the Mission's long-standing history of helping the hungry, poor, homeless, addicted and friendless in the District.

Compassion Sundays
Talk to your pastor about hosting a Compassion Sunday to explore what the Bible says about serving and giving. Contact us for evangelism tools to help share God's heart for the poor, and invite friends to your church. We can even arrange for a Mission representative to speak, program graduates to share their testimonies and our Men's Choir to lead songs of praise.

Compassion Parties
Host a benefit fundraising event or fundraising drive on behalf of Central Union Mission. We'll supply the invitations or e-mail templates, support letters and a promotional video. You invite your friends, family, small group or co-workers-and bring the fun!

Annual Help the Homeless Walkathon
On Saturday, November 21, join Central Union Mission's team for the Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Last year, Mission supporters joined the more than 16,000 walkers who helped raise $5.6 million to benefit local organizations that help homeless people.

By registering and walking with us, you will be helping provide a temporary home and hope to the men, women and children we serve. Your registration fee and participation will count toward the total amount Central Union Mission receives from Fannie Mae.
