Join in at the Ground Floor!

We can't wait to get started renovating the old Gales School building into a modern homeless facility with 150 overnight beds and all kinds of updated ministries. Before we begin, however, we are seeking God's guidance.

That's why we held a special service for our relocation at First Baptist Church of Glenarden (Landover, MD) on April 23. Starting with a WAVA (105.1 FM) live broadcast by radio host Don Kroah, 200 attended, praying along with Mission staff, Board and friends.

We heard from Rev. Billy Staton (First Baptist Church of Glenarden), Don Watson (Spiritual Transformation Program graduate), Dr. Anthony Medley (Emmanuel-Brinklow Seventh Day Adventist Church), Pastor Greg Strong (City of Zion Church) and Deacon Mike McCall (Burtonsville Baptist Church.) We also enjoyed music from soloist Sheri Jackson and Heaven's Song from Dupont Park Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Grace Cathedral Praise and Worship Team with Pastor Covington. Rev. Chester Bellinger (First Baptist Church of Glenarden) served as our moderator.

Robert Taylor and Ryan SimpsonRyan Simpson had it all: college and culinary school degrees and sous chef jobs at famous restaurants. He had no way to know that his painful family history, life-consuming addiction and wrecked relationships would lead him right to Central Union Mission. Speaking at our Landover Special Service for Relocation on April 23, Ryan shared how his life has been transformed. See what Ryan's doing now in our next issue of The Missionary newsletter.
